Through My Eyes: The Beginning
I began taking pictures while a teenager of people and places I visited while growing up. I loved creating amazing photo albums of significant events in my life. Over the years, as I traveled, I continued taking pictures of the beauty I experienced to capture the moments to remember forever. Two-thousand and five (2005) was the first year I created a picture video of one of my favorite places, Bermuda. At that time, I begin to work on a coffee table book titled, Through My Eyes. As I traveled more and more, I found myself taking a more creative approach to my photographs. I wanted to capture the subject from multiple angles to tell a story in pictures. As I took pictures from various angles, I began to see the subject's beauty in more than one dimension. Rather it was people, the food, a cultural event, a beautiful and historic structure, a scenic landscape, and of course, the ocean. I loved capturing the beautiful picturesque moments in time. The beautiful scenes captured my imagination and my heart of the scenic moment in time seen through my eyes. Over the years, my home is a gallery of beautiful moments and memories through my eyes. These scenic images evoke lovely memories of the beautiful landscapes, which I will always treasure. I am more reflective when I take pictures and visualize the moment I want most to capture. As a result, I believe, I unintendedly became a better photographer. As I reflect on the photographs, I know each holds lovely memories of the beautiful places I have visited, including my hometown of Chicago, IL. Lastly, I hope the beauty of my photographic art will shine in your eyes and be on display in your homes and offices. My hope is you will come to appreciate these beautiful scenic landscapes and moments in time in my very first series, Through My Eyes.
